Demimi

Demimi (Chinese name: Da Mimi) is a perpetually smiling rabbit. She embodies the eternal pursuit of the Cangdong Project: heritage conservation and sustainable community development, where people live healthy, happy lives in a harmonious environment.

Under the community-building philosophy of Cangdong, Demimi serves as a symbol of peace, prosperity, and joy. Choosing her as the official IP (Intellectual Property) mascot expresses the project’s core mission—to ensure that heritage preservation leads to sustainable growth and a high quality of life for all.

Peng Qi

The marsh crab, a small crab-like creature found year-round along Southern China’s rivers and canals, has long been a favorite playmate for local children. In the past, people would crush and ferment them into a salty paste to accompany their meals—a true staple of Southern rural life. However, due to environmental pollution over recent decades, these crabs have become increasingly rare in the fields. By adopting the marsh crab as one of its official mascots, the Cangdong Project highlights its commitment to natural ecological protection.

Ling Jiao

The water caltrop (or water chestnut) is an aquatic plant shaped like a bull’s horns. Harvested in summer and autumn, it is a traditional offering during the Double Seventh Festival (Qixi) in Southern China.

In the Wuyi region, traditional households especially love using them for the “Mu Xian” ritual (honoring the celestial beings). Not only are they a seasonal delicacy, but children also use them to craft handmade toys, making them a core part of the collective memory of Qixi culture. In recent decades, as traditional customs have waned, the water caltrop and the Mu Xian festival have gradually faded from the lives of the younger generation. By featuring the water caltrop as one of its IP mascots, the Cangdong Project expresses its dedication to cultural and ecological heritage protection.
