Built in the Ming Dynasty, it was originally named “Wangmu Temple” and dedicated to the Queen Mother of the West. In the 17th year of the Guangxu reign, overseas Chinese renovated the temple and enshrined the local deity “Lady Songjiu,” leading to its renaming as “Lady Temple.” It was later destroyed in 1958 but reconstructed in 2015 at the original site in its original style. Currently, the Lady Temple enshrines two deities: the Queen Mother of the West and Lady Songjiu. Legend has it that Lady Songjiu can overcome all obstacles to help overseas Chinese return home. From the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China era, overseas Chinese families often visited the temple for divination and prayers for safety, making it a spiritual pillar for the villagers. Even today, the Lady Temple remains a place where villagers worship and venerate the deities.
