Zhongxin Shrine

Built in the Ming Dynasty. The Zhongxin Shrine enshrines two deities, Guan Gong and Bao Gong, which not only expresses the villagers’ simple sentiment of loyalty to the country and family but also serves as the location for the lantern shed where lanterns are hung on the lantern day. Every New Year’s lantern day, families that had a male baby born in the previous year would go to the lantern shed to hang lanterns and hold a grand feast to welcome the new arrival. In the 1990s, overseas Chinese donated money to rebuild it into a two-story reinforced concrete building. By the end of 2018, the Cangdong base was equipped with electronic devices such as televisions and small KTVs, becoming a popular place for villagers to relax, entertain, and chat. The worship function of the Zhongxin Shrine has continued to this day, and villagers still come to worship during festivals.
